NFL Exec Reveals Next Step Packers’ Jordan Love Must Make

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love displayed that he is certainly the Packers’ franchise player this past season, but a former executive tells the NFL Analysis Network that there is still room for improvement.

While Love is great at throwing the deep ball and has elite arm talent overall, the executive says that he needs to get better at doing the little things.

“There is no question that the Packers have their future at quarterback and that Jordan Love has superstar potential,” the exec said. “He showcased almost everything you could have asked for last season. However, one area that he has to improve in is accuracy on the layup passes. He missed too many wide open short distance passes.”

Love, who played his collegiate football at Utah State, was selected by Green Bay with the 26th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He spent his first three seasons as Aaron Rodgers’ backup, but last offseason, the Packers traded Rodgers to the New York Jets, opening the door for Love to start.

He responded by throwing for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 64.2 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 96.1.

What’s more, Love totaled 18 touchdowns and just one pick over his final eight regular-season games, leading Green Bay to a 6-2 record during that span.

Most importantly, he led the Packers to a playoff berth and a Wild Card Round win over the Dallas Cowboys before ultimately falling to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round.

The 25-year-old is expected by some to be an MVP candidate heading into next season, and with incredible potential and an impressive stable of young receivers at his disposal, Love may very well take that next step in 2024.

We’ll see if Jordan Love can lead Green Bay on a deep playoff run next year.
