Former NFL DB Throws Major Shade At Bills QB Josh Allen

The Buffalo Bills are considered perennial contenders in large part because of quarterback Josh Allen. He has developed into one of the most productive players at the position in the leagues as arguably the best dual-threat quarterback. He has worked tirelessly to improve in the passing game to complement his strengths as a runner.

When debates occur about who the top quarterbacks in the NFL are, Josh Allen is normally someone who is mentioned. While he may not be atop the list, he is almost always among the top five players.

However, Josh Allen was recently kept off the top five list of a former NFL cornerback. When making an appearance on Up and Adams, Darius Butler, who spent his career with the Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers, revealed that he doesn’t have the Bills star near the top of his list.

Instead, Butler went with Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts and Justin Herbert, in no particular order. Plenty of people will argue against that list. But, you have to then ask yourself, which player would you take off the list?

Three of the players whom Butler mentioned have appeared in a Super Bowl, which they have over Josh Allen. Two of them have won an MVP, another accolade that Josh Allen has yet to achieve. The only player without either of those on the list is Justin Herbert, who broke numerous records in his first three seasons as a pro.

While Butler didn’t list Josh Allen among the top five quarterbacks in the NFL today, he did share some praise for the Wyoming product. He said that the Bills are in good hands with him as their franchise quarterback.

Another compliment was given when Butler said if you were to create a quarterback in a video game such as Madden, Josh Allen is likely close to how that player would look. There is certainly a lot to like about him as a player, as he possesses the size, strength and athleticism you want in your quarterback.
