Patriots QB Has Shocking Response To Tom Brady Rumors

New England Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett apparently does not want to see Tom Brady come out of retirement.

Brady recently said that he would consider returning to the NFL under the right circumstances, and now, he is having a little fun with it on social media.

Brissett—a former teammate of Brady’s—offered a pretty blunt response, tweeting, “Nope. Not liking this post!” (h/t Dov Kleiman).

Perhaps Brissett simply does not want Brady to damage his legacy.

Brady will be 47 years old by the start of next season, so it’s hard to imagine he would be able to come back and still be effective at this stage.

Yes, he managed to put forth a solid 2022 campaign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the age of 45, throwing for 4,694 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions. And yes, he finished second in MVP voting in 2021 after leading the league in both passing yards and passing touchdowns.

However, taking a year off and then returning at his stage of life would not be a smooth transition, and if anything, it could end up being dangerous for Brady.

Brady is most known for his 20-year run with the Patriots, where he led the franchise to six Super Bowl championships while collecting three MVP awards.

After his long tenure in New England, Brady moved on to the Buccaneers in 2020, where he proceeded to guide Tampa Bay to a Super Bowl title in his first season there.

There probably would be some teams that would express interest in Brady right now. Heck, the San Francisco 49ers apparently tried to convince him to come out of retirement before last season.

But it would probably serve Tom Brady much better to just remain retired. Plus, he is about to become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. It’s time for him to comfortably move in to the next chapter of his life.
