The 2023 campaign has not exactly been kind to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott early on.
Through five games, Prescott has looked incredibly shaky, throwing for 1,061 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 69.4 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 87.5.
Most recently, Prescott put forth a miserable performance in a 42-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers this past Sunday, going 14-for-24 with 154 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions.
Prescott’s poor showing drew the ire of former NFL wide receiver and current Fox Sports analyst James Jones this week, as Jones criticized the 30-year-old for failing to deliver when it matters.
Prescott has yet to eclipse 300 yards in any single game in 2023, and over the last three weeks, he has thrown three touchdowns and four picks.
The Cowboys got off to a dominant 2-0 start this season, outscoring their opponents 70-10 over their first two games primarily due to their stifling defense.
However, since then, Dallas has gone 1-2, including a 28-16 upset loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3.
While the Cowboys’ defense remains near the top of the NFL at No. 5 overall, their offense has been another story.
Dallas ranks 17th in the league in total offense and its passing offense is just 20th.
Dak Prescott’s struggles date back to last season when he led the NFL with 15 interceptions in just 12 games. That came after a terrific 2021 campaign in which the Mississippi State product posted 37 touchdowns and 10 picks.
The Cowboys will look to get back on track when they take on the Los Angeles Chargers next Monday.
