As the Green Bay Packers prepare for Week 1 action against the division rival Chicago Bears, all eyes are on young quarterback Jordan Love. It will be his first test since taking over the starting job and face of the franchise position from Aaron Rodgers. No one knows exactly what to expect, but to say that fans in Green Bay are nervous and excited would be an understatement.

Very few rivalries in the wide world of sports even approach how serious these two teams are when they play each other. There is a real hatred dating back years in this rivalry.

So far in his young career, fans haven’t gotten a very good look at Love. He has played sparingly for the Packers, but the franchise has spoken extremely highly of him and clearly believe in him enough to move on from one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.

Former NFL star and current analyst Ryan Clark had some bold thoughts to share about Love. He thinks Green Bay could very well have the best quarterback in the NFC North, topping the Bears’ own quarterback Justin Fields.

“The folks in Green Bay should feel like they have the best quarterback in the entire NFC North.”

There is no denying how good Love looked during preseason play. However, it is only preseason snaps, which aren’t nearly as pressurized or meaningful as regular season playing time.

Love ended up completing 21 of his 33 pass attempts for 193 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions in the preseason. He played in all three games.

At times, the offense looked lost and completely unable to move the football. Then again, at other times they looked like a well-oiled unit that could be an elite offense. There will be growing pains this season, but Packers’ fans should be very excited with what they have seen thus far.

Expect to see Jordan Love come out strong in Week 1. He isn’t going to be perfect and he could make a big mistake or two, but that should be expected. It will be very interesting to watch his development as the season progresses in his first year getting meaningful playing time.
