When Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets by the Green Bay Packers, there was a weight lifted off of everyone’s shoulders. The trade had been rumored for weeks but seemed to stall out when the sides negotiated draft compensation. But, in the days leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft, the Jets and Packers were able to come to an agreement to get a deal done.

While Aaron Rodgers did admit that it will take some time to truly adjust to a new franchise, he has seemed to be enjoying life in New York. He has been a fixture at sporting events in the city, attending playoff games at Madison Square Garden for the New York Knicks and New York Rangers.

He is still learning his new facility, but Aaron Rodgers looks to be very happy with the changes. One of his former teammates that he has reunited with on the Jets recently spoke about how thrilled the future Hall of Famer is with the change.

Offensive lineman Billy Turner, who spent three seasons with the Packers before joining the Jets this offseason, was recently on Mad Dog Sports Radio talking about things in New York. Aaron Rodgers came up and Turner revealed how his quarterback is feeling.

“The dude just shows up to work and he’s just so fucking happy right now,” Turner said. “It’s very cool to witness and see because it doesn’t matter how long you’re in this profession, it’s the type of profession where regardless of how long you spend in it, you can always experience something new. And he’s experiencing something new for the first time in his career, and it’s cool to be part of and watch.”

Turner added that part of the reason that Aaron Rodgers is so happy being with the Jets is because of how frustrating things got with the Packers at the end of his tenure there. Miscommunication about how much Aaron Rodgers had left to give is what Turner believes led to the erosion of their relationship.

“I don’t think the Green Bay Packers realized and understood what he had left in the tank,” Turner said. “He has everything left in the tank.”

That is all in the rearview mirror now as Aaron Rodgers is with the franchise he wanted to be with for the 2023 season. All his focus is on the Jets and helping them turn things around as they currently own the longest playoff drought among the four major sports leagues as the Sacramento Kings snapped their 16-year playoff-less streak this season.
