New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson is not happy with how his team’s offense has performed through its first eight games of the season.

The Jets fell to the Los Angeles Chargers by a score of 27-6 in a listless effort on Monday night, and Wilson expressed his frustrations afterward.

“It’s inexcusable, man, and it’s getting to the point where it’s disappointing,” Wilson said, via Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. “I hate coming off the field, looking our defense in the eyes and knowing that we have to send them back out there after three-and-out. Them boys are my dogs and they come out and ball. They put us in a great position. It’s time for us to start returning the favor, man. It’s time. We got to figure it out.”

Wilson himself committed a costly fumble on New York’s second possession of the game, losing the football on the Chargers’ 37-yard line.

He added that “something is wrong” if players aren’t “angry” about the way the offense looked.

Funny enough, the Jets actually outgained the Chargers 270 to 191 in total yards. Zach Wilson even threw 263 passing yards to Justin Herbert’s 130.

However, Los Angeles simply made more plays when it counted and did not return the football over. Meanwhile, the Jets committed three turnovers, all coming on fumbles (Zach Wilson was responsible for two of them). New York was also penalized eight times to LA’s four.

Garrett Wilson logged seven catches for 80 yards in the defeat.

On the season overall, the 23-year-old has caught 46 passes for 549 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

The wide out is now in his second NFL campaign after being drafted by the Jets with the 10th overall pick in 2022. Garrett Wilson played in every game during his rookie season, hauling in 83 receptions for 1,103 yards and four scores.

New York fell to 4-4 with the loss and will take on the Las Vegas Raiders next Sunday.
