After an embarrassing loss to the Miami Dolphins, it has become clear that Aaron Rodgers should not return this season for the New York Jets.

The Jets were officially eliminated from the playoffs after their shutout loss to the Miami Dolphins. This marks the 13th straight season that the Jets have missed the playoffs.

In the loss, it became very clear that Aaron Rodgers should not return this season. Despite ramping up his hopes to return and being activated off IR, there is now no reason to risk Rodgers coming back this season.

While the Jets were eliminated from the playoffs, their offensive line also has shown to be incapable of protecting Rodgers if he were to return. Coming off the injury, there is no reason for Rodgers to risk coming back early with the season over.

Now, the Jets must focus in the remaining three games of the season on finding out who to keep to surround Rodgers with next season. The offensive line is an issue for the team, as injuries to what was likely at best a mediocre unit have resulted in them struggling.

Unfortunately for Zach Wilson, he suffered a concussion in the loss to Miami, as he was under constant pressure from the front of the Dolphins. It is too early to know if he will be playing next week or the remainder of the season for the Jets, as he could have very well played his last game for the team.

With the playoffs being impossible now for the Jets, the team should be preparing fully for the offseason. As of now, they are slated to be picked sixth in the NFL Draft, which could provide them with a good offensive lineman to help protect Rodgers next season.

While it is never good to lose games, the Jets must be smart and keep Rodgers on the sidelines for the remainder of the season, even if he is healthy.
