The Las Vegas Raiders may no longer be in Oakland, but the memories of the Bay Area still remain. At least in the eyes of edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

A fan recently asked a question about Oakland on Crosby’s “The Rush” podcast, asking the star pass rusher if he missed playing in front of the funs.

Crosby proceeded to wax about the Black Hole.

“Absolutely,” Crosby said. “It’s funny, I was just talking about this today, and someone was asking me, Did you play for the Oakland Raiders at one point? And I was like, ‘That year, I’ll never forget it, for many reasons, good and bad.’ The fans in Oakland, I’m so happy I got to experience that and obviously it was the last year in Oakland, and the fans — I can’t even explain.”

The fans in Oakland were incredibly dedicated and were known for being one of the rowdiest groups in the NFL, so it’s no surprise that Crosby has fond memories of them.

“They’re throwing (expletive) on the field, people are falling out of the stands. A (expletive) show,” Crosby continued. “By the time the fourth quarter hits you get the wave of kush going through the whole stadium. I’m looking around and all the guys are like, ‘Welcome to Oakland.’ I’m like, this is legendary. I’ve got so much love for Oakland.”

When Crosby was originally drafted by the Raiders back in 2019, they were still playing in the Bay. However, that would be the franchise’s final season in Oakland before moving to Vegas in 2020.

While the Las Vegas fans have certainly embraced the Raiders, it’s hard to match the sheer devotion of the former fans in Oakland.

Maxx Crosby has made three straight trips to the Pro Bowl and is coming off of an outstanding 2023 campaign in which he racked up 90 tackles, 14.5 sacks, a couple of forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

The Raiders went 8-9 this past season.
