Raiders Predicted To Make Stunning Blockbuster Trade In Offseason

Could the Las Vegas Raiders trade wide receiver Davante Adams just two years after acquiring him? ESPN’s Dan Graziano seems to think it’s a possibility.

When asked which star player he expects to be traded this coming offseason, Adams’ name surfaced immediately.

“Davante Adams is the obvious one to me,” Graziano wrote. “Even if the interim guys keep the jobs (which is possible), the Raiders are going to have a different coach and GM than they had when they acquired Adams and signed him to a contract extension. One of the reasons the star receiver went there was to play with quarterback Derek Carr, who’s no longer there.”

Adams has expressed his pleasure in Las Vegas multiple times this season, although he never formally requested to be moved. Still, it’s not hard to read the tea leaves: the superstar is clearly not happy with the Raiders, so a trade could very well be on the table after the season.

“Adams has played the good soldier and not requested a trade, but I do think there’s a strong chance he gets to the offseason and he and/or the team decide it’s best to move on,” added Graziano.

Through 14 games this year, Adams has caught 84 passes for 968 yards and five touchdowns in what will likely end up being his least productive campaign since 2019 when he finished with 83 catches for 997 yards and five scores. The difference is Adams was limited to 12 games due to injuries that season.

Las Vegas initially acquired Adams in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers in March 2022. He played in all 17 contests during his debut campaign with the Raiders, hauling in 100 receptions for 1,516 yards and a league-leading 14 receiving touchdowns.

Going into 2023, Adams had logged six consecutive trips to the Pro Bowl and three straight First-Team All-Pro selections.

Davante Adams spent the first eight years of his career with the Packers, comprising one half of one of the NFL’s most lethal duos with Aaron Rodgers.

Las Vegas is 6-8 this season and will take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day.
