Raiders Urged To Pursue Massive Trade For Star Linebacker

The Las Vegas Raiders will enter their Week 7 matchup with the Chicago Bears at 3-3 and could use a big-time win to keep pace in the AFC West.

While their result against the Bears will tell us a lot about where they stand heading into Week 8, the Raiders could still stand to make some improvements even if they win.

That is, of course, if Las Vegas still plans on contending for a playoff spot this season and doesn’t want to punt until 2024.

If the Raiders do want to try and add pieces, they have until the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline to make some moves, and time is of the essence.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine suggests that Las Vegas pursues Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White to better its struggling defense.

White asked for a trade during the offseason, but ultimately, he and the Buccaneers mended the relationship.

Here is the thing: Tampa Bay is currently 3-2 and sits in first place in the NFC South. The Bucs have been one of the biggest surprises of the season thus far, and because they are evidently contending for a division title, they really have no reason to move White or anyone just yet.

But on the flip side, White will be a free agent at season’s end, and the Buccaneers may not be able to retain him. Could Tampa Bay decide to try and trade White for a quality return now rather than potentially losing him for nothing in the spring?

Through four games this season, White has logged 33 tackles and an interception. The 25-year-old is coming off of a 2022 campaign in which he racked up 124 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, three fumbles recoveries and five passes defended, and in 2021, he made the Pro Bowl.

The fact that White has only made one Pro Bowl is strange given his gaudy career numbers.

It may be a shot in the dark, but the Raiders may want to place a call to the Bucs just to see if White may potentially be available for the right price.
