In a remarkable twist of NFL history, Detroit Lions’ quarterback Jared Goff has entered the annals of football greatness alongside legends like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

While Goff may not possess the same extensive list of accolades as Brady, with his seven Super Bowl victories, or Manning, who is a Hall of Fame icon soon to be joined by Brady, he has accomplished something extraordinary that solidifies his legacy.

The Lions’ recent victory over the Buccaneers on Sunday marked a pivotal moment in Goff’s career. This win was not just another statistic; it was a milestone that places Goff in a rarefied group. He has become only the third quarterback in NFL history to lead multiple teams to at least 14 wins in a single season.

This feat harkens back to Goff’s success in 2018 with the Rams when he played a pivotal role in a 15-win season, culminating in a Super Bowl appearance against Tom Brady’s Patriots. Prior to Goff’s achievement, this exclusive club consisted solely of Brady and Manning, who were the only quarterbacks to guide multiple teams to 14 or more wins in their careers.

Brady’s illustrious 20-year career with the Patriots saw him reach this milestone an astonishing 10 times. Even his transition to the Buccaneers in 2019 didn’t disrupt his winning ways, as he led Tampa Bay to a 15-win season in his debut year, ultimately winning Super Bowl LV against the Chiefs. His second season with Tampa Bay also included an impressive 14 wins.

Peyton Manning’s legacy, spanning 18 years with the Colts, featured five seasons with 14 or more wins. When he moved to the Broncos in 2012, he seamlessly continued his success, achieving a 15-win season in his second year with Denver.

Now, Goff’s attention turns to the NFC championship game against the 49ers, where he aims to attain yet another rare achievement. A victory in this game would place him in the elite company of quarterbacks like Brady, Manning, Kurt Warner, and Craig Morton, all of whom have led multiple teams to the Super Bowl.

Warner achieved this distinction with the Rams and Cardinals, while Morton did so with the Cowboys and Broncos. Jared Goff’s journey in NFL history continues to be a story of remarkable achievements.
