The Miami Dolphins are getting set to battle the Dallas Cowboys this weekend, and Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel his offense is going to have to find a way to handle Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons.

McDaniel raved about Parsons this week, calling him one of the best players in all of football.

“He is one of the best players in the National Football League at any position. And it’s — yeah, I don’t think it’s really debatable,” McDaniel said, via the Dolphins’ official YouTube account.

I don’t think anyone would argue that at this point.

Now in his third season, Parsons has stamped his name among the most elite defenders in the NFL. Through 14 games this year, he has already racked up 46 tackles, 12.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

“This dude is different,” added McDaniel. “And the orchestration that he has with his teammates, the stuff that coach [Dan] Quinn does with the multiplicity of his alignments, and you can tell that not only is he unique in skillset, but you don’t play all the way across the line, and in the stack, and do all the things he does without having a true love for the game.”

Parsons, who played his collegiate football at Penn State, was selected by the Cowboys with the 12th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft and has been wreaking havoc ever since.

McDaniel is looking forward to the challenge of preparing for him.

“He’s more fun to watch when you’re not going to play him. But that being said, I like the challenge of facing elite players like our players do,” McDaniel said. “And it’s really cool to watch because you combine talent with strength, that’s rarefied air in general with the level of talent and the level of strength that he exhibits. He is a real dude, for sure.”

The Dolphins are 10-4 this season and are 0-3 against teams with winning records, so this Sunday’s matchup with Dallas will represent a real test for McDaniel’s club.

Micah Parsons and the Cowboys are also 10-4. They just saw their five-game winning streak snapped by the Buffalo Bills this past weekend.
