The Miami Dolphins’ starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, has yet to ink a long-term contract extension with the team since being selected as the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

However, it appears that he anticipates securing that extension down the line.

As for the current state of contract negotiations between Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins, it remains somewhat unclear. Nevertheless, the quarterback has conveyed his confidence that both parties will ultimately reach an agreement on an extension.

“I believe that will happen.”

Interestingly, Tagovailoa seemed reluctant to delve into the specific details of ongoing contract discussions.

“I’m gonna let, you know, my agents, Chris, Mike [McDaniel], let those guys talk about that and let them move forward accordingly.”

Last spring, Miami exercised Tagovailoa’s fifth-year option, ushering him into the final year of his current contract.

While concerns arose last season due to his injuries, he has not only maintained his health this season but also delivered the most impressive performance of his career on the field. Undoubtedly, this success has further solidified the team’s faith in him for the future.

It seems likely that we’ll see the Dolphins and Tua Tagovailoa work out a long-term deal at some point in the fairly near future.
