Could free-agent defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh link up with the Baltimore Ravens? It seems to be a possibility, and there appears to be mutual interest on both sides.
While working in London at Sky Sports Coverage, Suh said that he has spoken with the Ravens about a potential fit this season.
“Last week it was the Ravens that spoke to me, so they seem to be interested and played great today,” Suh said. “You never know. We’ll see when we get back to the States, huddle up with the wife and family, get settled and keep training.”
Suh last played in an NFL game with the Philadelphia Eagles last season, where he appeared in eight contests and logged 10 tackles and a sack.
The 36-year-old is hoping to latch on with a contender to try and make a run at his second Super Bowl championship, but he also wants to make sure he gets adequate playing time.
“Where’s the right fit? Where’s the right opportunity? Where can I go and add value? I don’t just want to sit there and watch other guys be successful,” added Suh. “Have options, that’s the key, and make decisions from there.”
Suh won a title with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during 2019-20 campaign, where Suh played in every game and was very effective, totaling 41 tackles, 2.5 sacks, four fumble recoveries and two defensive touchdowns.
Of course, the University of Nebraska product is hardly the same dominant force he was during the early stages of his career when he made five Pro Bowls and earned three First-Team All-Pro selections over his seven NFL seasons between the Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins.
As a matter of fact, Suh’s rookie campaign represents the best season of his career, as he racked up 66 tackles, 10 sacks and an interception back in 2010.
The Ravens are 5-2 on the year and are coming off of a 38-6 win over Ndamukong Suh’s former Lions club.
