One of the more intriguing names that remain available in NFL free agency is wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham showed during his time with the Los Angeles Rams that he was not the problem with the Cleveland Browns and that he has plenty more to offer a team. Plenty of teams could have interest in signing Beckham, including the Las Vegas Raiders.
Beckham was great in Los Angeles, helping replace the injured Robert Woods. He took advantage of advantageous matchups generated by playing opposite of Cooper Kupp, who had one of the best seasons in NFL history for a wide receiver.
Unfortunately for Beckham, all of the positive things he accomplished to rehab his value were dashed in the Super Bowl. After already catching two passes for 52 yards and a touchdown, Beckham tore his ACL, taking him out of the game and clouding his future.
There is enough uncertainty for players entering free agency when fully healthy. Doing so after a major injury, as Beckham is doing, will drastically change your value. He was one of the best wide receivers available this offseason, but with teams uncertain about when he could return to the field, his market has been cold thus far.
Where could the former LSU standout end up? One potential option is the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders, according to Maxim Bet, are +400 to be Beckham’s next landing spot.
Based on those odds, according to the sportsbook, the Raiders are the third likeliest team to land Beckham. The New Orleans Saints are the favorites at +300, followed by the Baltimore Ravens, who are +350.
Rounding out the top-five odds are the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots at +500 and then the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans at +800.
The Raiders have already made a splash this offseason, acquiring Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers. But, these odds were released following that deal, so oddsmakers believe the Raiders still have a strong possibility of landing Beckham in free agency.
Adding Odell Beckham Jr. along with Adams would upgrade the Raiders offense in a major way with Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller already in place. The AFC West is loaded heading into 2022, so keeping up in the arms race and landing Beckham would be smart for Las Vegas even if he misses a large chunk of the season.
