New York Jets defensive lineman Quinnen Williams made earned his second straight Pro Bowl selection this season, but his younger brother, Jets linebacker Quincy Williams, was not so lucky.

Quincy Williams certainly had a strong Pro Bowl case. After all, through 16 games, he has racked up 131 tackles, a couple of sacks, an interception, a pair of forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and 11 passes defended.

Quinnen Williams says that Quincy should be making the trip on Feb. 4.

“You can see it by his play on the field,” the elder Williams said, according to Bridget Reilly of The New York Post. “You can tell each year he’s been in the NFL, he’s been getting better, year in year out. … Definitely he has the ability to be one of the best linebackers in this league, and he definitely showed this year that he is one of the best linebackers in the league. … I definitely feel like around the world knows that he should have been a Pro Bowler, and he deserved to be a Pro Bowler.”

Quincy is in his third season with the Jets after spending his first couple of seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. After having a very limited role in Jacksonville, the 27-year-old has broken out ever since arriving in New York. He registered 110 tackles, two sacks, three forced fumbles and five passes defended during his debut campaign with the club in 2021, and last season, he rattled off 106 tackles and three sacks.

This is is best year yet, but it unfortunately did not result in both Williams brothers making the Pro Bowl. But Quincy hopes that the two brothers will be able to go together next winter.

“That’s the plan,” the younger Williams stated.

As for Quinnen, he has logged 59 tackles, 3.5 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in what has actually been a step backward for the University of Alabama product. Last season, he posted 55 tackles and 12 sacks, earning First-Team All-Pro honors in addition to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Quinnen Williams and the Jets are 6-10 heading into their season finale against the New England Patriots this Sunday. They have not made the playoffs since the 2010-11 campaign, representing the longest active postseason drought in the NFL.
