Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay is one of the most underrated players in the NFL. Lindsay doesn’t have the size NFL GMs would like out of a feature back. However, he makes up for that with his incredible speed. When Lindsay gets the ball, there is always a chance for a big play.

However, Denver found it necessary to sign Melvin Gordon in the offseason. This wasn’t a terrible signing, because of Lindsay’s small frame he wasn’t that great after contact. However, keeping a talented player like Philip Lindsay as a backup is a bit of a waste. The Broncos may be looking to ship the 26-year-old back to a team that could use him.

Although he isn’t great after contact, Philip Lindsay often avoids being touched until he’s well past the line-of-scrimmage. His combination of quickness and vision is something that really can’t be taught. Lindsay ability to burst through holes untouched is among the leagues best. It is a major reason why he’s surpassed 1,000 yards rushing since coming into the league.

Consistency is an important trait to have. Philip Lindsay is very consistent. Although the Broncos offensive line is average at best, Lindsay still managed to rush for over 1,000 yards. He isn’t getting that number because he is being force fed the ball either. Lindsay averaged 4.5 YPC last season. The season before he averaged 5.4. Those are very solid numbers. They are not backup running back numbers.

There are plenty of teams in the NFL looking for a running back. Having an electric back like Lindsay brings excitement and energy to a team. However, the team that trades for Lindsay needs to have the right scheme.

With taking all of that into consideration, here are three teams who should look to trade for Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay.
