NFL Analyst Doesn’t Hold Back On Major Take About Bills’ Josh Allen

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has certainly had a strange season, much like the Bills as a whole.

However, with Buffalo’s playoff hopes hanging in the balance, Allen has led the team to a pair of gigantic wins, and CBS NFL insider Jonathan Jones thinks he has worked himself into the MVP conversation because of it.

Speaking about Allen earlier this week, Jones said that in spite of Allen not putting up huge numbers in the past two wins, he is making big plays when they count and is guiding the Bills to these victories.

Of course, Allen himself said that he felt he didn’t do very much in Buffalo’s most recent victory, which was a 31-10 triumph over the Dallas Cowboys this past Sunday. Allen went just 7-for-15 with 94 yards and a touchdown while carrying the ball eight times for 24 yards and a score in the win. To be fair, Allen didn’t have to do all that much thanks to running back James Cook, who racked up 179 yards on the ground.

Still, there is no doubt that Allen is doing a fine job of leading his squad, as seen in Week 14 when he nailed down a huge road win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

On the season overall, Allen has thrown for 3,541 yards, 26 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while completing 66.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 93.2. He has also rushed for 398 yards and 11 scores, averaging five yards per carry.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Wyoming, was selected by the Bills with the seventh overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He has made a couple of trips to the Pro Bowl and has led Buffalo to four straight playoff appearances. He also second in MVP voting in 2020 and third last season.

Josh Allen and the Bills are now 8-6 on the year and have managed to stay alive in the AFC playoff picture. They will head on the road to take on the Los Angeles Chargers this Saturday before facing the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins to close out the regular season.
