4. Patrick Peterson

This is the option on the list that is the most fun to think about, but also the most unlikely. Patrick Peterson’s name has been thrown around in trade rumors in recent years. The Arizona Cardinals have stated that they are not interested in trading Peterson, but that does not mean that they want to give him another huge contract.

Peterson is entering the final year of a five-year, $70 million dollar deal signed back in 2014. He quickly turned into one of the top cornerbacks in the game making the Pro Bowl in each of his first eight professional seasons.

Peterson was also named First-Team All-Pro three times in that stretch. He played all 16 games in each of his first eight seasons. In 2019, Peterson served a six-game suspension before returning for the final 10 games.

The Cowboys drafted Diggs in the second round of the draft, but their secondary is still imperfect. Adding an impact player like Peterson would bolster the unit plus give the Alabama product a mentor. We all know that Jerry Jones likes to make noise and adding Peterson would certainly shake things up.
