2. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have been on the periphery of a move to add big-name wide receiver, with rumored interest in trading for Odell Beckham Jr. and Antonio Brown in recent years. Green comes with the name and the resume, but not the personality that invites distractions like Beckham and Brown do.
Kyle Shanahan’s run-rooted offense makes wide receivers into cogs that fit a certain niche and/or seem replaceable. It’s a formula that works for the 49ers, so it’s hard to argue with it.
But imagine a healthy Green dictating coverage his way as a proverbial No. 1 wide receiver for San Francisco. That would create new voids for a high-level game planner and play schemer like Shanahan to exploit.
