1. Los Angeles Chargers
There is a good chance Keenan Allen doesn’t go anywhere. The Chargers just drafted Justin Herbert in the first round and are hopeful that he is the franchises future. Los Angeles also has a very talented defense. The Chargers could be a dark horse playoff team this season. Give the Chargers four years and they may be one of the AFC’s top teams.
Keenan Allen already has very solid secondary pieces around him. Hunter Henry and Mike Williams can apply enough pressure on opposing defenses that they cannot key in on Allen. However Allen would be the primary target and get more than his fair share of touches. If Keenan stays with the Chargers I expect the same consistency he has shown throughout his career.
Keeping Allen around would make perfect sense for both parties. Herbert is much more athletic than Philip Rivers, athletic enough to buy himself time behind a sub-par offensive line. Herbert also has enough arm talent that he can push the ball downfield. Allen knows the Chargers system and has thrived in it for many years. If the Chargers offer Allen a fair contract there is a good chance he stays.
