3. Versatility & Leadership
The 2020 NFL Draft featured the deepest wide receiver class in the history of the draft. Green Bay did not take advantage as they did not draft a receiver in any round. In fact, they traded up in the first round to select Utah State product Jordan Love.
Interesting decision with No. 12 under center. Anyway, this must mean that the team has confidence in their youth. The Packers signed Devin Funchess to a one-year, prove-it deal after missing the 2019 season with a knee injury. Rodgers has said nothing but good things about Green Bay’s young receivers.
Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdez-Scantling saw time in 2019. Equanimeous St. Brown is someone that Rodgers has backed during his tenure in Green Bay. Cooper Kupp could be a leader for these young receivers and show them the ropes. They would have a chance to grow under Kupp and Adams.
Kupp is also extremely versatile. He can line up in the slot or on the outside. He is not afraid to go over the middle and can go deep if needed. Kupp has incredible hands which has made him extremely reliable. Rodgers would have fun on Sunday afternoons with Kupp in the huddle because there are so many ways to use a receiver of his caliber.
