Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs took home a Super Bowl title in 2019. Their offense is their strong suit led by Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce. In the upcoming season, their running back group will look a whole lot different.
In 2019, Damien Williams and LeSean McCoy manned the backfield. Williams has decided to opt-out of the 2020 season while McCoy signed a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kansas City knew they needed help at the running back position heading into the draft and they addressed it with the final pick of the first round.
The Chiefs were on the clock at No. 32 with all running backs available. They opted for Clyde Edwards-Helaire out of LSU. Some questioned this pick but Andy Reid has a plan. He is a coach that is known for using his running backs in many ways and turning them into stars. Just look at McCoy and Brian Westbrook during his time in Philadelphia.
Edwards-Helaire will be the feature back followed by DeAndre Washington and Darrel Williams. Darwin Thompson will also be in the mix hoping to get a chance to show what he can do. The Chiefs have so many playmakers on their roster to go along with a strong offensive line.
