Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf may have just provided some bulletin board material for Cincinnati Bengals wide out Ja’Marr Chase ahead of their Week 6 matchup.
While speaking to the media during a press conference on Wednesday, Metcalf praised Chase, calling him “a great receiver” and saying that he tips hat to Chase for what he has been able to accomplish since entering the NFL in 2021, but he qualified the statement by saying that he doesn’t think Chase’s talent will do him much good against Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon.
“It’ll be fun to watch Sunday, but I think ‘Spoon will get the best of him,” said Metcalf, via Seattle’s official team website.
The funny thing about this statement is that Metcalf just put a whole lot of pressure on his teammate, as Metcalf won’t be the one left on an island with Chase; that will be Witherspoon.
