New England Patriots: Tight End

The New England Patriots have gone from having one of the best tight ends in NFL history to the position being their biggest need. Rob Gronkowski has joined Brady in Tampa Bay while New England is in search of a starter for 2020.

Matt LaCosse recently decided to opt out of the 2020 season and this was a big blow to the Patriots. This leaves rookie Devin Asiasi as the No. 1 tight end heading into the season. The Patriots selected Asiasi with the 91st pick in the draft out of UCLA. Behind Asiasi is Dalton Keene, who the Patriots drafted just 10 picks after Asiasi.

Cam Newton has reportedly been working with his new weapons prior to camp. The Patriots could show trust in their rookies or sign a free agent. Delanie Walker is a veteran name that has been linked to New England. Walker would immediately improve the position but for now, tight end is the Patriots’ glaring weakness.
