Buffalo Bills: Edge Rusher
The Buffalo Bills finished 12th in the NFL in 2019 with 44 sacks. Jordan Phillips led the team with 9.5 sacks followed by Shaq Lawson with 6.5. Phillips is now with the Arizona Cardinals while Lawson signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Miami Dolphins.
Buffalo signed Mario Addison and drafted Iowa’s A.J. Epenesa to add to the defensive front. Jerry Hughes will be back at defensive end and Ed Oliver will look to take the next step during his second year. The unit has potential but is not going to be a top-tier group.
The Bills traded for Stefon Diggs in the offseason. This gives them a No. 1 receiver to go along with Cole Beasley and John Brown. Dawson Knox is a huge breakout candidate at tight end in 2020. They are in need of a back up running back to Devin Singletary but it is not as great of a need as edge rusher. Finally, the Bills could use a new kicker. Steven Hauschka has been mediocre during his tenure.
The AFC East could belong to the Bills in 2020. Josh Allen is going to improve and Sean McDermott is a quality head coach. The Bills have one of the best cornerbacks in the league in Tre’Davious White, but their pass rushing unit could use some help.
