NFL: One trade each NFC West team should pursue before the 2020 season

Trade Package: Arizona Cardinals trade De’Vondre Campbell to the Washington Football Team for Matt Ioannidis.

The Arizona Cardinals are on the rise after struggling in a difficult division for the past couple of seasons. this year they are looking to make the jump into the playoffs but currently lack a good interior pass rush. Adding a strong interior lineman would bring a lot to this defense that could help their high powered offense win games.

The Cardinals were able to draft Isaiah Simmons in the first round. He has all-pro potential, and is someone this defense could build around. However, it leaves a starting quality linebacker on the bench. Washington is in need of some depth at linebacker.

Campbell is a great coverage linebacker and fits Washington’s scheme very well. Washington could afford to lose Ioannidis because they already have a lot of depth on the interior line.

This trade would make a lot of sense for both teams. Each team is losing players in positions where they have depth and are gaining players in positions that they do not. The Cardinals’ defense would be able to hold opposing offenses so that each game is not a shootout. Washington could start building their defense into a legit powerhouse with Campbell serving as their primary coverage linebacker.
