Seattle Seahawks
Trade Package: Seattle Seahawks trade their 2021 fourth-round pick to the New Orleans Saints for Trey Hendrickson.
The New Orleans Saints will not have the cap space to re-sign Hendrickson when his contract is up. Getting a third-round pick would be a good return on investment for a player who would hit the free-agent market anyway.
While losing Hendrickson would hurt the Saints’ pass rush depth, he is not irreplaceable. The Saints could draft his replacement in the 2021 NFL Draft with the extra pick, or decide to add depth at other key positions.
The Seattle Seahawks still do not have a dominant pass rusher. While Hendrickson is nowhere near dominant yet, he has a lot of potential to grow. He could become a quality starting edge rusher in the NFL. He would be able to add some depth off the edge.
Hendrickson also would be able to serve as a solid edge rusher for the Seahawks’ future. Seattle’s defense has always been able to get the best out of their edge rushers. Hendrickson would learn a lot in Seattle and could grow into a quality edge rusher.
