Los Angeles Rams
Trade Package: Los Angeles Rams trade a Rob Havenstein to the New England Patriots for Yodny Cajuste and a conditional pick.
The Los Angeles Rams’ offensive line was not very good last season. Havenstein was dominant during their Super Bowl run. However, after signing a massive extension, Havenstein has been one of the worst tackles in the NFL. He still has value, and there is a chance he bounces back. However, his contract is not worth the risk.
The Rams will need money to sign some of their young superstars like Jalen Ramsey. They will likely need cap space to make moves in free agency because they do not have a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Yodny Cajuste is a promising prospect and he has all the physical tools to grow into a starting role next season.
For New England, there is a chance Havenstein returns to form. If the Patriots can get a Pro-Bowl year out of Havenstein this offensive line could be one of the NFL’s best. The conditional pick could range anywhere from a sixth to a fourth-round pick. If Havenstein makes the Pro Bowl, the pick would be a fourth-round pick. If he struggles again, it would be a sixth-round pick.
The Patriots are a team that is going through a bit of a transition. While they are still contenders in the AFC East, with so many big names players opting out, their defense will likely not be as dominant. The Patriots’ offense, especially the run game, may have to carry the team.
Adding a tackle with Pro-Bowl potential could give the offense a boost. Meanwhile, adding a young prospect for an offense in a bit of a rebuild while also obtaining a conditional draft pick could help this Rams’ offense rebound quickly.
