2 intriguing free agents the Giants should sign

The New York Giants had a disappointing season in 2020, but they are in the midst of putting together a strong offseason to help them bounce back in 2021. The Giants just missed out on the NFL playoffs in 2020 but the team could make that goal happen in 2021.

The Giants made some strides in the right direction in 2020, but a slew of injuries really limited their potential. Saquon Barkley missed nearly the entire season with a torn ACL and a variety of other star players saw time on Injured Reserve as well.

Daniel Jones has all the tools to be the face of the franchise for the Giants, they just need to invest in him and his talent surrounding him before they can make an honest assumption. The Giants have already began to do that this offseason as they have brought in wide receiver Kenny Golladay, tight end Kyle Rudolph, and quarterback Mike Glennon.

The Giants aren’t far from being contenders again and a strong offseason will make a whale of a difference. Let’s take a look at two more free agents the New York Giants should bring in.

Kwon Alexander

The New York Giants have a hole to fill following the loss of David Mayo at the linebacker position and former New Orleans Saints linebacker Kwon Alexander could fill their need. Alexander, 26, has struggled with injuries but he has proven to be a solid linebacker when healthy.

Kwon Alexander and Demario Davis made an unstoppable duo in New Orleans last season before Alexander went down with an injury. Alexander was only released from the Saints because of his 14.1 million dollar cap hit, but that could be great news for a team like the Giants.

The New York Giants need an enforcer on the defensive side of the ball and Kwon Alexander could be that guy. Alexander plays with his heart on his sleeve and he would be a great addition for the new look Giants.

Adoree Jackson

The New York Giants need to add some defensive versatility and Adoree Jackson could provide that for the team. Jackson, 25, is a very speedy and athletic cornerback who can lineup at cornerback or return kicks and punts for the team.

Adoree Jackson was the number 18 overall pick by the Tennessee Titans back in 2017, but he hasn’t quite lived up to the expectations of being a top 20 NFL draft pick. Jackson has been good, but the Titans prefer more of a ball hawk cornerback while Jackson is more of a slot corner who can tackle really well.

Jackson would give the Giants a lot of mobility and speed in their secondary and he could also double down as the team’s return specialist. Adding a player like Jackson who can serve multiple roles would allow the team to save a roster spot for a different position of need.
