This Bills-Texans Trade Sends Brandin Cooks To Buffalo

The 2023 NFL offseason is about to get underway and only two teams are not fully focused on what moves they will look to make. Both the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs are vying for a title, but the rest of the league are already working on how to get to the Super Bowl next season. Among those teams are the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans, who are on opposite ends of the contention spectrum.

It will be interesting to see what both of these teams do this offseason. One potential move that could happen would come between the two via a trade.

Brandin Cooks is going to be a hot commodity on the trade market. Quite a few teams around the NFL will be looking for veteran wide receiver help. Could the Bills be one of those teams?

Could The Texans And Bills Come Together On A Brandin Cooks Trade?

Bleacher Report recently published an article running down a few trades that could reshape the NFL. One of those moves has the Bills trading for Cooks with the Texans.

What would a potential trade look like between the two? Let’s take a look at what they came up with.

Bills Receive: Brandin Cooks

Texans Receive: 2023 Fourth-Round Pick

This would be an extremely interesting move. Cooks would add even more firepower to an already dangerous Bills’ offense. No one would be happier about this move than superstar quarterback Josh Allen.

On the other side of the trade, the Texans would be adding more draft capital. They have a chance to get their future at quarterback in the 2023 NFL Draft and adding more young talent will be at the top of their priority list. It’s only a fourth-round pick, but there are plenty of talented players available in that area of the draft.

During the 2022 season with the Texans, Cooks ended up catching 57 passes for 699 yards and three touchdowns. The numbers weren’t amazing, but neither was his role and he was clearly unhappy with the team. He also didn’t have a great quarterback throwing him the ball either.

If these two teams came together on this trade, it would be a win-win situation. Houston could look for a third-round pick instead, but this trade would make sense. Both the Bills and Texans would have to be happy with their return and Cooks would be ecstatic to get out of Houston.
