The Buffalo Bills have to figure out how to get on the same page with star wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The biggest headlines for the team this offseason have circled around him and his displeasure with the organization.

Things got so bad that head coach Sean McDermott canceled the last day of practice during mandatory minicamp as the two sides tried to come to a resolution. It should have been something that the Bills worked on day in and day out as training camp gets underway next week.

If Stefon Diggs isn’t taking part in training camp, it will be a disaster. The Bills’ passing game will be derailed as there is only so much Josh Allen will be able to do to make up for the loss of his best wide receiver. Should Stefon Diggs miss any time, Gabriel Davis, Trent Sherfield and Khalil Shakir would be next in line.

The situation between Stefon Diggs and the Bills has drawn the ire of some around the league. One scout who spoke to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler while taking part in the positional power rankings had some harsh words for the All-Pro wide receiver. He calls it the “Diggs experience” and it is a similar situation to what the Minnesota Vikings had to deal with near the end of his tenure there before he was traded to Buffalo.

“He likes the drama and being an enigmatic guy,” the scout said. “I’m not saying he’s wrong — they should have gone to him more in that playoff game. But he’ll be on his best behavior until he decides not to be.”

Wide receivers have notoriously been known as an emotional bunch and Stefon Diggs seems to fit that description well in the opinion of the scout. Despite one negative reaction, he still found himself in the top 10 of the wide receiver power rankings, where he certainly belongs.

Stefon Diggs came in at No. 6 overall with the highest ranking he received being No. 3. However, that scout may not have been alone in his assessment, as there were people who took place in the voting who had him unranked for this exercise.

Unranked seems like an overly harsh rating as it would be virtually impossible to name 10, let alone 15 or more when you include players who landed honorable mentions. While his attitude may not be the best in the eyes of some, there is no denying that Stefon Diggs is among the elite wide receivers in the NFL as he looks to extend his streak of five straight seasons surpassing the 1,000-yard receiving mark.
