Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins could be the next young wide receiver to cash in on a lucrative new contract this offseason. After being selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Clemson, he has cemented himself as one of the better young receivers in the league.

While he is overshadowed at times by his teammate, Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins has proven to be just as productive of a player when given chances to be the No. 1 option. When Chase missed time this past season with a hip injury, Tee Higgins was more than capable of being the leading man.

In those five games, Tee Higgins caught 29 passes for 406 yards and three touchdowns. Eligible for an extension this offseason, if the two sides cannot work out a new contract, there is a chance that the Bengals will make him available in a trade.

If that is the route that needs to be taken, the Green Bay Packers are one team that should get in on the bidding. Regardless of whether it is Aaron Rodgers or Jordan Love under center in 2023 for the Packers, they need to add some weapons to their passing game.

Tee Higgins would be an excellent complement to Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. He is someone that can win 50/50 balls down the field, giving Green Bay a young, talented and trio with diverse skill sets.

It is going to cost a pretty penny to acquire Tee Higgins in a trade. Teams have to take into consideration not only the draft capital cost but the long-term contract that he will be seeking as well.

There have been plenty of examples of wide receivers in similar positions to Tee Higgins in recent seasons getting traded. Based on that, it will cost the Packers at least their first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Another Day 2 pick will need to be included, so Green Bay can offer their third-round pick as well.

A first and third is what it cost the Philadelphia Eagles to land A.J. Brown from the Tennessee Titans during the 2022 NFL Draft. Tee Higgins could demand a similar trade package and contract as their production is very similar.
