The Green Bay Packers were taking a major risk when they opted to make a quarterback change this offseason. They were ready to hand the reins of their offense over to Jordan Love, who was tasked with replacing future Hall of Famer, Aaron Rodgers.

There have been some ups and downs in the 2023 season, which was expected with a first-time starter leading the youngest and least experienced offense in the NFL. But, the highs have been very high, which the team is currently riding.

On Sunday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs, Love put together an incredible performance, outdueling Patrick Mahomes. He completed 25-of-36 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns, while Mahomes went 21-of-33 for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

That resulted in a 27-19 Packers victory, giving them three wins in a row. It also moved them up the standings into a Wild Card spot in the NFC, as they are holding the No. 7 seed in the conference, which is the last playoff spot.

In the process of that excellent performance against Kansas City, Love also made some NFL history. Over his last three games, Love has completed 65+ percent of his passes with over 100 attempts, throwing 8+ touchdowns with zero turnovers. A passer rating of 115+ with 40+ rushing yards and no more than five sacks have been taken.

That combination of stats, according to OptaSTATS on X, formerly known as Twitter, has never been accomplished over a three-game span in NFL history. That includes regular season and postseason games.

This is a truly special stretch that Love has put together. It has resulted in the team stringing together wins, which is the most important part of his individual success. For three decades the Packers received Hall of Fame production from Brett Favre and Rodgers.

While Love has a long way to go to achieve such praise, he is certainly making it look like they have found yet another franchise quarterback to count on for the foreseeable future. That is bad news for the rest of the NFL, as Love and this young Packers offense is gaining confidence as we enter the final stretch of the season.
