Jordan Love was one of the most surprising picks in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The surprise wasn’t due to him being picked in the first round, but more of how the Green Bay Packers decided to make him their first-round selection.
Even with superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers already on the roster and the Packers making it to the NFC Championship Game last season, they decided to trade up to get him. It was a move that shocked most fans in Green Bay. The media was also surprised by the move.
Despite all of the differing opinions surrounding the Packers’ selection of Love, he is the future at quarterback for Green Bay.
Madden 21 has released their ratings for all rookie quarterbacks. Many were surprised by Love receiving a 71 overall rating. That rating made him the third-highest rated rookie quarterback behind Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa.
Following the rating reveal from Madden 21, Love had a hilarious reaction to finding out his overall. He thought his rating would be a bit higher, but Steve Young dashed those hopes.

It will be very interesting to follow along as Love develops with the Packers. He isn’t going to play early, but in a few years he could very well replace Rodgers as the franchise quarterback. Some Green Bay fans don’t want to think about that day, but the Packers got themselves a very talented young quarterback.
Love has legitimate star potential if he develops fully. Thankfully, Matt LaFleur has a long and successful track record of working with quarterbacks.
Expect to hear a lot about Jordan Love in the coming months and years. The Packers have made a major investment in him and hopefully he won’t let them down.
