The Green Bay Packers had a very surprising 2020 NFL Draft, to say the least. After making the shocking move to trade up in the first round for Utah State quarterback Jordan Love, the franchise made another interesting move in the second round. They decided to select Boston College running back AJ Dillon.
With both Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams already on the roster, many fans were left scratching their heads. Why would the Packers go for another running back instead of trying to improve at wide receiver, offensive line, or even on the defensive side of the ball more?
Quite simply, Brian Gutekunst and company loved the skill-set that the young running back brings to the field.
Standing in at 6-foot-0 and nearly 250 pounds, Dillon is a massive running back. He is known for picking up hard-earned yardage and being an incredibly difficult player for defenders to bring down.
During the 2019 season at Boston College, Dillon put up a big year. He carried the football 318 times for 1,685 yards and 14 touchdowns. Dillon also caught 13 passes for 195 yards and another touchdown.
Green Bay fans are wondering what to expect from their rookie running back. The Packers have a plan, but Dillon will have to play behind the team’s two proven veteran running backs.
All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at what the Packers and their fans should be expecting from AJ Dillon in 2020.
