Adds Needed Pass Rush Depth
Adding another pass-rusher isn’t a pressing need for the Green Bay Packers at this current moment, but it certainly would complete the unit.
The Packers already have a trio of dynamic options between Za’Darius Smith, Rashan Gary, and Preston Smith setting the tone. With the departure of Kyler Fackrell earlier in free agency, Green Bay could use a veteran like Griffen to fill a complementary pass-rush role.
The 2020 season may be the year that depth holds its greatest importance since players could test positive for Covid-19 and need to sit out at times. With pass rush being so important for a defense, having additional options to be able to turn to makes sense.
It’s not often a talent like Everson Griffen is available this close to training camp and it’s important to capitalize on it.
