Cam Newton, Quarterback

Out of all the players on the Patriots roster, Cam Newton has the most boom potential. He is a former NFL MVP with a strong arm and is a freak athlete. Bill Belichick has wanted a more mobile quarterback for a few years now.

Enter; Newton. He has the dynamic ability to dominate running and throwing. It will be interesting to see all the creative ways that Belichick decides to use the former MVP. When creating the perfect quarterback, Newton posses the ideal size and athleticism. His strong arm and ability to buy time with his legs are what make him such a fun quarterback to watch.

Belichick is going to have a lot of fun designing plays that best showcase Newton’s talent. Because of his tremendous potential, there is significant boom potential. However, there is a chance that he and the Patriots don’t mesh. He’s healthy for now, but injuries could catch up to him at some point. His throwing accuracy also has been an issue at times as well.

Although the Patriots typically are a very efficient offense, Newton sometimes tries to extend things in an attempt to create bigger plays. While that pays off at times, there are times this improvisation results in turnovers.
