Potential Cam Newton Bounce-Back

The New England Patriots may have lost Tom Brady to free agency with his decision to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but Cam Newton being the projected starter provides intrigue.

Many will be watching to see if Newton can pull off a strong bounce-back season in 2020–among them should be Keenan Allen. Assuming the Patriots retain the 2015 NFL MVP beyond the upcoming season, New England could attract talent to join him.

The Los Angeles Chargers will head into the 2020 season with Tyrod Taylor slotted as the starter with the eventual expectation that Justin Herbert will take over. Should Allen want to stick around through the growing pains of a young quarterback?

If Newton can prove his doubters wrong, Allen could enter a much more intriguing situation by joining him with the Patriots. New England would be ready to win now as opposed to focusing on player development.
