Philadelphia Eagles Predicted To Make Interesting Move At QB

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are set at quarterback with Jalen Hurts, and they went out and acquired a capable backup in Kenny Pickett this offseason.

So, you wouldn’t think the Eagles would be looking at a signal-caller in the NFL Draft.

Don’t tell that to David Howman of SB Nation, who has Philadelphia selecting University of Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton in the fourth round.

It’s a rather strange projection given the fact that Hurts figures to be Philly’s quarterback for the long haul, and Pickett is just 25 years old behind him and was the starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers for the better part of the last two seasons.

But apparently, Milton is intriguing enough for Howman to think the Eagles may end up considering him in the middle rounds of the draft later this month.

Milton is certainly an interesting prospect, standing 6-foot-5 and weighing in the neighborhood of 240 pounds. He threw for 2,813 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 64.7 percent of his passes this past season. He also rushed for 299 yards and seven scores.

He has a cannon for an arm, as evidenced by the fact that he was the hardest thrower at the NFL Scouting Combine back in February. Additionally, Milton is very mobile and could end up being a legitimate dual threat on the NFL level.

Perhaps Philadelphia could select him based off of his potential alone, and if things end up not working out with Hurts, the Eagles may have a star waiting in the wings.

Of course, the quarterback position is hardly a focus for Philadelphia right now, as it is simply trying to add more pieces to get back into Super Bowl contention.

But if Milton is available in the fourth round, he may prove too tantalizing for Philly to ignore.
