Philadelphia Eagles rookie defensive lineman Jalen Carter took a light-hearted dig at Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James following the Eagles’ Week 7 win over the Miami Dolphins.

During the game, Carter got into a scuffle with Dolphins offensive lineman Austin Jackson and had the wherewithal to flop in order to draw a penalty.

Afterward, Carter said his great acting was inspired by James.

“I was just thinking about LeBron,” Carter said, via Josh Tolentino of The Philly Inquirer. “I was like ‘oh, what would LeBron do.”

While James is regarded as one of the best players to ever step on the hardwood, he has always been widely criticized for his propensity toward flopping throughout his career. Apparently, Carter also feels James’ attempt at drawing fouls may also be a bit extravagant, but that didn’t stop him from trying the same thing on the gridiron. And hey, it worked.

Carter logged one tackle in the victory over Miami.

On the season overall, the 22-year-old has totaled 13 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a couple of forced fumbles in what has been a very impressive seven-game stretch for the first-year pro.

Jalen Carter, who played his collegiate football at the University of Georgia, was selected by Philadelphia with the ninth overall pick of the NFL Draft back in the spring.

The Eagles improved to 6-1 with their win over the Dolphins, rebounding from their ugly loss to the New York Jets the week prior. They are tied with the Kansas City Chiefs—the team they lost to in the Super Bowl last February—for the best record in the NFL.

Philadelphia will head on the road looking to complete the season sweep of the Washington Commanders this weekend.
