The Philadelphia Eagles have a pair of dynamic wide receivers in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. However, beyond those two, the Eagles don’t exactly have much depth in their receiving corps.
This has led some to believe that Philadelphia could pursue a wide out between now and the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline, and Sayre Bedinger of FanSided sees Denver Broncos receiver Jerry Jeudy as a potential fit.
The Broncos are just 1-4 and seem likely to sell off some pieces in the coming weeks. Given that they have actually fielded trade offers for Jeudy in the past, Jeudy is viewed as a prime candidate to be dealt before the end of the month.
Jeudy does have another year left on his deal after this season, so Denver doesn’t actually have to be in any rush to move him now. However, on the flip side, Jeudy certainly has more value with some extra team control than he would as an expiring contract, so the Broncos may want to trade him now to extract as much value for him as possible.
The 24-year-old has played in four out of five games this season, missing one contest due to a hamstring injury. During his time on the field, he has logged 17 catches for 208 yards.
Now in his fourth NFL season, Jeudy hasn’t exactly lived up to his expectations as the 15th overall pick from 2020, but he has been a rather steady source of offense for Denver.
The University of Alabama product is coming off of a 2022 campaign in which he hauled in 67 receptions for 972 yards and six touchdowns, representing his most productive season to date.
Plus, Jerry Jeudy would not be asked to be a top-tier receiver in Philly; he would merely be expected to complement Brown and Smith, and if Jeudy is your No. 3 wide out, you have a pretty good stable of pass-catchers.
