Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett told reporters that will “for sure” return to the field when his team takes on the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night, via Brooke Pryor of ESPN.

Pickett left during the second quarter of his team’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday due to a rib injury and did not return. He went 10-for-16 with 73 yards before exiting.

On the season overall, Pickett has played in every game and has thrown for 1,330 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 61 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 80.6.

Pickett, who ironically played his collegiate football at the University of Pittsburgh, was selected by the Steelers with the 20th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.

He had a rather rough rookie campaign, totaling 2,404 yards, seven touchdowns and nine picks while completing 63 percent of his throws and registering a passer rating of 76.7 in 13 games and 12 starts.

Obviously, is sophomore season has not been much better, as Pickett has thrown just one touchdown pass over his last four games. The good news is that he has also thrown just one interception during that span, but Pittsburgh certainly needs him to be more productive.

The Steelers rank just 25th in the NFL in passing offense and 30th in offense overall, and while that is certainly not all Kenny Pickett’s fault, he definitely hasn’t helped his case very much.

Nevertheless, Pittsburgh has managed to go 4-3 in spite of its offensive struggles, including a significant home win over the Baltimore Ravens back in Week 5.

The Steelers are just one-and-a-half games behind the Ravens for first place in the ultra-competitive AFC North division.

Pittsburgh has not posted a losing campaign since 2003.
