Pittsburgh Steelers Legend Has Bold Take On QB Situation

The Pittsburgh Steelers faced significant challenges during the past NFL season, particularly on the offensive front. The crux of their struggle rested on the inconsistency at the quarterback position, widely regarded as the most crucial role in football.

Despite the formidable defensive efforts, spearheaded by standout linebacker T.J. Watt, which saw the Steelers wreaking havoc on the field, the offense faltered to deliver consistently. This led to the midseason departure of offensive coordinator Matt Canada.

Despite navigating through the rough waters of the AFC North, one of the league’s toughest divisions, the Steelers’ offensive woes proved insurmountable, ultimately becoming their primary concern as they entered the offseason.

Looking ahead, the central dilemma for head coach Mike Tomlin and his team lies in addressing the quarterback situation. This critical issue was recently discussed with former Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw on The Rich Eisen Show.

“[Kenny] Pickett. I love Pickett. I know him. I know him well, and he’s fiercely competitive. He’s a tough-minded kid. Things don’t bother him.”

With pressure mounting from the team’s leadership, particularly owner Art Rooney II, who is growing increasingly frustrated with recurring disappointments, the current quarterback, Kenny Pickett, finds himself under scrutiny and with limited room for error.

In light of these circumstances, the Pittsburgh Steelers may opt to pursue seasoned quarterbacks such as Kirk Cousins or Russell Wilson to spearhead their offensive charge, rather than relying solely on Pickett.
