Week 12 was a big game for Baltimore Ravens rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers. The No. 22 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft has quickly turned into a go-to weapon for the team offensively, filling a number of roles.

Flowers has quickly ascended the pecking order when it comes to targets from Lamar Jackson, as he is the No. 1 receiver on the team. With tight end Mark Andrews shelved because of an ankle injury, Flower has become the No. 1 target in the passing game.

His responsibilities go beyond that, as he has also been used as a weapon in the running game. That is how he iced away Sunday night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, taking a jet sweep to the house to help the team win 20-10.

It was the second touchdown of the game for Flowers, who helped the Ravens get the lead in the second quarter after the Chargers had been leading 3-0. That was the first multi-score game of his young career, and he has made an immediate impact on the team.

NFL News & Rumors: Zay Flowers, Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens Update

Mostly everyone has been impressed by what Flowers has done thus far in his rookie season. It will be interesting to see what else he has in store for the final six games of the season. Quarterback Lamar Jackson is hoping it is more multi-touchdown games.

Jackson sent a message to Flowers via Jamison Hensley of ESPN. He made it clear he is expecting more, saying, “We need a lot more, if anything. I’ve been waiting on him to score multiple times in a game.”

That was likely said with some jest, as Jackson and Flowers have been shown to have a playful relationship during their short time together. But, it also hints at what the Ravens and their star quarterback are expecting from their rookie wide receiver, which is greatness.

Through 12 games, Flowers has caught 58 passes for 613 yards and two touchdowns. The receptions and yardage are both leading the team to this point.

The dynamic Boston College product has added eight rushes for 56 yards and another score as well. He has been one of the most productive rookies in the NFL and should see a large role throughout the remainder of the season.
