Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens had the luxury of enjoying a comfortable weekend off during the wild card round of the playoffs.
While they relaxed at home, they witnessed the Houston Texans convincingly defeat the Cleveland Browns, and the Buffalo Bills handle the Pittsburgh Steelers. These outcomes set the stage for an upcoming matchup between the Ravens and the Texans.
C.J. Stroud and his team put on an impressive performance over the weekend, securing a dominant 45-14 victory over the Browns on Saturday afternoon.
Despite their remarkable display, reporters couldn’t help but ask Lamar Jackson if the Ravens were at their peak form as they entered the playoffs. Jackson responded with a short blunt message.
“I’m ready for whatever.”
He continued on to talk about how the team was playing coming into the playoffs.
“Yeah I believe we [were] – especially against the opponents we had, playoff opponents. That’s the thing about the bye week, I was like, ‘Dang, we got a bye week.’ I believe we were getting into a groove. We were just getting more and more dialed in. It is what it is. Coach [John] Harbaugh still made us practice like we were preparing for a game so I believe we’ll still be ready.”
Only time will tell if all the time off will make them come into this week’s game rusty. That has been a concern for quite a few teams who have gotten the first-round bye week in the playoffs.
The Ravens are now gearing up to face the Texans, with the kickoff scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. ET.
