The Baltimore Ravens made a splash this offseason when they signed free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. If things go according to plan, Week 1 will be the first time that we see Odell Beckham Jr. on an NFL field since Super Bowl 56 when he was playing with the Los Angeles Rams.

The former All-Pro helped the Rams win that game, catching two passes for 52 yards and a touchdown before he suffered a devastating knee injury. He would eventually reveal that the ACL surgery he underwent while playing for the Cleveland Browns didn’t take, so his knee was in danger of being injured again.

The ticking time bomb ended up going off during the Super Bowl when he suffered another ACL tear. He has spent months and months rehabbing, as he missed the entire 2022 season because of the injury. The Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants all considered signing Odell Beckham Jr. last season, but nothing came to fruition.

He has now landed with the Ravens in their revamped offense. With Todd Monken taking over as the team’s offensive coordinator, Baltimore is expected to deploy a more pass-heavy attack. It is something that Odell Beckham Jr. should thrive in while catching passes from Lamar Jackson.

While certainly grateful for the opportunity with the Ravens, Odell Beckham Jr. will never forget what the Rams did for him after the Browns released him. In fact, he went as far as to say that Rams head coach Sean McVay changed his life more than any other coach.

That speaks volumes to the caliber of coach that McVay is. Odell Beckham Jr. was with the organization for the final eight weeks of the regular season and subsequent postseason run. To have the level of impact on a player in such a short amount of time goes to show not only how good of a coach that McVay is, but that he is an even better person.
