Roquan Smith and the Baltimore Ravens took care of business to open up Week 11 action with a dominant 34-20 victory over Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. A lot of that had to do with the fact that Burrow went down with a wrist injury that ended his game prematurely.

No one truly knows how much time Burrow will miss due to the injury. Some have speculated that it could be a season-ending injury, while others could see him just missing a few weeks. Either way, it’s an unfortunate injury that adds yet another superstar on the shelf in a long list of injury issues this season.

Following the game, Smith did not hold back from making a brutal comment about Burrow’s injury. It’s also a comment that has caused some to question the Ravens’ defensive motives.

“When you play the Ravens defense, sometimes things like that happen.”

That kind of comment comes from a place of extremely poor taste. Smith has always been known as a hard-core player and has made his fair share of questionable hits throughout his career. Coming out right after a player is injured and having this kind of a response is not a great look, to say the least.

With the win, the Ravens moved to 8-3 on the season. They appear to be one of the top contenders in the AFC and have shown no signs of slowing down. On the other side of the equation, the Bengals’ playoff hopes are dwindling with the injury to Burrow and dropped to 5-5 with the loss.

Hopefully, the injury is not season-ending and we will be able to see Joe Burrow make a return to the field. Too many stars have been forced to miss extended time due to injury. For Burrow, he had just started looking like his old self after dealing with a nagging calf injury throughout the preseason and early parts of the regular season.

Up next for Roquan Smith and the Ravens will be a Week 12 matchup against the Chargers in Los Angeles. The Bengals will take on the Steelers at home next week. For Cincinnati, all breath is being held until more details about Burrow’s injury are revealed.
