Over the past few weeks, rumors and rumblings have been swirling around the Cleveland Browns’ franchise. What direction they will head remains to be seen, but there are obvious needs to target a wide receiver in either free agency or the 2022 NFL Draft. One name to keep a very close eye on will be veteran free agent Allen Robinson.

Robinson is going to have a very large market this offseason with quite a few teams needing help at the wide receiver position. Expect the Browns to be among the teams with a high level of interest in signing him.

One NFL executive spoke to NFL Analysis Network about the market for Robinson this offseason. The Browns were a team specifically mentioned as a potential landing spot.

“Robinson is going to have his pick of teams to play the next chapter of his career. I know that Cleveland is intrigued by the idea of adding him to their offense. The Browns may not be a front-runner, but they are certainly a threat to sign him.”

During the 2021 NFL season with the Chicago Bears, Robinson had a bit of a down year. He ended the year with 38 receptions for 410 yards and a touchdown. Those numbers weren’t great, but he is still more than capable of being a very big impact player for whoever signs him this offseason.

At 28 years of age, Robinson will be highly sought after. Among the other teams expected to have interest in him are the Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and even the Las Vegas Raiders. Needless to say, the Browns will have to be very aggressive if they want to sign him.

Looking at the Browns, they need to be highly aggressive this offseason. They missed the playoffs last season and there are major questions about Baker Mayfield’s ability to be the long-term quarterback. Adding another weapon could help Mayfield and Jarvis Landry could use more consistent help.

Expect to see the Browns be in the market for a top free agent wide receiver. Allen Robinson may not end up signing with Cleveland, but they certainly seem to be a potential suitor at this point in time.
